Life In Pau - It Is Not Just Expat Fuddy-Duddies, Learn About The Very Best Bars In Pau
Each town has an image, and the bars in Pau portray something incredibly different from what many people think of the town. In case you are one of the many who think that life outside the cities can be a little dull, then you should really read on and discover what you're missing.
There are so many things that Pau is known for. The Tour de France is definitely up there, in 2010 it had the tour for a holiday, it was the 100th tour and the 80th visit through Pau - a pretty spectacular relationship.
Then there's the motor racing. This is known as a yearly event, however it does miss the odd year (just like 2010, it had the Tour de France, but scrapped the motor race).
Neither of these events are known for their life and vitality, they're both well established, respectable events. They are great fun to look at, but they don't define the city as much as outsiders believe. So what makes Pau such a great place to live?
A quick visit to a couple of the bars in Pau will tell you that there's a great vibrancy. Aside from the University de Pau, there's also the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Pau. These 2 institutions keep a steady stream of students in the town. Unlike most tertiary education institutes Pau students fully use the bars and clubs in town. The students integrate seamlessly into the town and add a special kind of buzz.
The other excellent institution of Pau is Total. Total has a big base in Pau and brings in many international employees as well as offering internships and placements to students.
The mix created by Total, the students as well as the Palois is something pretty special. Added to this is the marvelous views of the Pyrenees, easy access to ski stations and only just over an hour to the seashore in summer time, and you quickly realise that Pau has far more to offer than many people realise. So, whether for a vacation, placement or contemplating emigrating, the bars in Pau would quickly show you the varied life accessible to you.
