Do You Know What Does The Bible Say About Tattoos?
So what does the Bible say about tattoos? This is a very popular doubt that I have heard mentioned many times. This is also a very different sort of topic for me to write about on this site, but I actually heard a conversation about this right now, so I thought I would share my views. According to my knowledge of scripture, the Bible does not particularly talk about tattoos (regarding the same kind of tattoos that people get these days). However, I believe that I will be able to clear up some of the misunderstandings discussed in religious circles about tattoos.
To start with, a lot of religious people have used the scripture, Leviticus 19:28"You shall not create any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord", as a means of saying that the Bible tells us not to mark the body in any way (tattoos, piercings, etc). The problem with this point of view is that people don't understand the history behind what was written in the Bible about tattoos. See those 3 words in that scripture, 'for the dead'.
During that time, one of the ways that people would worship demon gods was to pierce and also mark their bodies as a sacrifice. This is very real stuff that is even happening today. The major problem with this is that the spirit world trades on blood. In order for a demon spirit to have power in a person's life, there should be some kind of trading. A person must give a portion of them self or sacrifice something to a demon so that entity to have any access into their life. The biggest realm of trading in the heavens is by blood. That is why Jesus, the Son of God, came to the Earth and shed His blood on a cross. He was trading in the heavens for all of the human race to be brought back to God.
So here is my viewpoint with tattoos. Most people that get tattoos these days are NOT getting them to worship the devil. The majority of folks are not getting them to make a sacrifice to demons. It all really just comes down to the motivation of the heart. Man considers the outward appearance, but God sees and judges the heart. Getting a tattoo is just an expression of what exactly is inside a person's heart. So it all begins with the motivation in the heart. An individual can get a tattoo out of hate just as well as someone could get a tattoo from love for God.
I am amazed at how many times I hear people simply ask "what does the Bible say about tattoos?". I am not really interested in the law of whether getting a tattoo is right or wrong. I am interested in the inspiration of the person's heart who wants to get one. The motivation of the heart is what will set the stage for what the person is going to trade into (trade into heaven, or trade into darkness). If you do decide to get a tattoo, I would be really careful about who gives you the tattoo. There are people in the occult who will do anything whatsoever to get blood DNA out of people so that they can go and offer it to demons in the spirit world in return for power in the earth. Be wise about this stuff and don't let spiritual garbage get around your life. Stay clear. Stay free. Jesus loves you and does not want you to be bound by a religious system that is outside of the liberty of the Spirit of God. Take all of your questions and concerns to God, and He will lead you in the way you should go.
