A Couple Of Things Which You Have To Search For A Good Pau Restaurant
I have lately relocated to Pau and love it. However, as with every new home, there are some things you have to search for and discover as a high priority and an ideal restaurant in Pau was high on my list of things to find.
Once you have a roof over your head and cozy bed the next thing is to put together a quality of life. In my books, quality of life is seen by 2 things; company and food (accompanied by a glass of wine of course). I also find that the two tend to go hand in hand. A good meal is always improved if you are in good company, just as good company will normally lead to the discovery and experience of many good meals.
So, how did I initiate my search for a good restaurant in Pau? Well, I began with the bars. I wanted to find out what sort of people lived here. I wanted to check who were the driving force of the market. I needed to know if I was in a town of old folk who frequented cafes or is a town influenced by live music and social life which roared during the early hours. The great, as well as surprising news, is that I found it all. Literally, take for example, the Boulevard des Pyrenees. If you sit outside of one of these bars for a whole day and evening, (which of course I have made) you will see representatives of every age and rank of the Pau life.
So then I must decide what to try first. A short talk to the bar man gave me a bit of a feel for the place. He was English and had lived here for five years. He was warm and pleasing and told me everything from the right spots to take a girl on a first date, down to the ideal areas for a hangover cure.
I soon discovered that I didn't actually want to try every restaurants of Pau alone, so I loitered in the bar slightly longer, wondering how I was going to build a social group. However, while I was thinking, it was being built for me. The bar man finished his shift at nine, and was meeting a couple of friends, before I knew it was were all sitting in a small Italian in the middle of the old town.
These people are now my best friends in Pau and together we have tried everything from the pubs to the Michelin star restaurants, and this is where I found my way to an excellent restaurant in Pau. As I said, good company and good restaurants go hand in hand.
